Castelvecchio

Castelvecchio, originally called the castle of San Martino in Aquaro, is a medieval fortress located in the historic center of Verona currently used as the site of the municipal museum of the same name; it is the most important military monument of the Scaliger lordship. In January 1944, the trial was held against the six members of the Grand Council of Fascism who, in the session of July 25, 1943, had voted no confidence in Benito Mussolini for the position of Prime Minister.
