Piazza delle Erbe

Piazza delle Erbe is the oldest square in Verona, and stands on the area of the Roman Forum. In the Roman era, it was the center of political and economic life; over time, the Roman buildings gave way to medieval ones. In 2012, it was considered the most beloved Italian square in the world according to research conducted by the Marilena Ferrari Foundation, which monitored 100 major foreign newspapers for a year.
